A one-of-its kind has prestige. For 26 years, the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix has showcased a vintage car race thru the picturesque parks and serpentine streets of downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The PVGP prides itself as the longest continually running vintage road race in the nation. This world class racing event gathers over 50,000 spectators and gives all its proceeds to two charities, the Autism Society of Pittsburgh and the Allegheny Valley School. The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix hosts its Blacktie & Tailpipes Gala at the 108 year old Fox Chapel Golf Club. Architecturally intertwined with the Allegheny Mountains, it is one of the most elegant and picturesque settings for a benefit anywhere in the country.
Celebrating its 11th gala anniversary, the committee of the Blacktie & Tailpipes Gala sought to invigorate its event by hiring a licensed professional auctioneer to solely call bids for its live auction. But it was a recommendation to seek the services of Auction brio that ignited intrigue to the event director. On a Sunday morning Mark held a conference call with the event director and the silent auction chairperson. By listening to the committee Mark assessed their needs. The committee presented a tough challenge. With fewer items available for bidding they wanted a larger revenue return. It is the expertise of a certified benefit auctioneer specialist to present a solution to achieve this goal. Examples were presented where he could increase bidding thus increasing revenue on the live and silent auction. Upon investing in Mark, he restructured the live auction and managed the silent auction by turning a bargain table into a money generator.
Guests arrived to the summer sun brightly reflecting off the glossy finish of polished vintage cars that lined the grass median of the Fox Chapel Golf Club. Dressed for the era photographers took flash photos to commemorate the moment. Champagne was served as guests admired and discussed the eras, chassis and models of the collection of vintage cars. One of the items for auction, a Mini Cooper S Experience, was strategically parked outside the entrance doors. It was a fashionable setting for an elegant auction gala.
The silent auction opened with a beautiful presentation. Guests hovered over items and continued to raise the bidding. When the silent auction closed at 9pm it generated more money than any previous year! Mark had successfully executed a silent auction with limited items and delivered a money generator. The live auction elevated to a new record of revenue. An elite Kolbold Watch Co. Men’s timepiece produced immediate results. Mark received an instant bid and sold the elegant timepiece for $3,500!
Remarkably, an auction with fewer items returned more money for the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix Blacktie & Tailpipes Gala. Mark’s expertise in auction management and Auction brio services revved-up record revenue. His results drive one-of-a-kind prestige.
"Mark was able to come in at the last minute to help us with our live and silent auctions. While I was originally looking for just a live auctioneer, he explained his services and we decided to work more collaboratively on the entire fundraising event. Our revenue increased with 30% fewer packages than in prior years. We had higher bidders on fewer items and were able to make this event a huge success with his help.”

Cleveland Indians Hit All-Time Fundraising High with Auction brio!
Many times an annual event can get routine. The same items are auctioned year after year and the event becomes predictable. How can a live auction increase its fundraising abilities?
After 16 consecutive years, the Cleveland Indians Charity Golf Classic sought to invigorate their live auction and fundraising capabilities. By having market knowledge of the sports items up for auction, Auction brio enhanced the CIC auction to raising its fundraising totals to a new record high!
"We thank you for your incredible energy and enthusiasm as the auctioneer at our annual CIC Celebrity Golf Classic. With your unique style and expertise in the sports memorabilia world, CIC was able to realize an all-time high in revenues generated through our live auction. We could not have achieved that success without your knowledge of sports and your professional effort. We look forward to working more with you on future CIC events."

It Is Worse to Pay to Little
We want more for less, but paying less can never get more. So don't expect a BIG return on a small or no investment.
Organizations seeking an auctioneer to perform for free or cheap service is looking for a very disappointing fundraiser. Think about it, a person who isn't paid or under compensated never puts their best into the work. If they are free, there is no obligation to perform their best and the organization should understand that when looking for a free service. I have witnessed non professionals take the podium for a live auction following long involvement in the libations. The party is the main event so why worry about raising money for the cause? Free service promotes opportunity to just have a good time. Raising money..that's way down the list at the party. The fact is, getting what you don't pay for...costs the organization more!
It is unwise to pay too much, but it is worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you sometimes lose a little money that's all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying too little and getting a lot, it cannot be done! If you buy from the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run and if you do that, you will have enough to pay for something better.
It is worse to pay too little or not pay at all.

Taking Silent Auction from Bargain Table to Money Generator!
Who doesn't love a bargain? Silent auctions have traditionally been targeted by guests to steal an item with a cheap bid. But continuing to feed the "tradition" of the bargain table is not helping your organizations chance to raise more money. Its time to start a new tradition and make the silent auction table a money generator!
Improperly managed silent auctions cost non-profit organizations thousands in uncollected dollars! There are numerous techniques that will elevate the silent auction and only an experienced certified Benefit Auctioneer Specialist can produce it. Elevating a silent auction into a money generator takes knowledge, experience and education. As Cleveland's premiere benefit auctioneer, Mark Schroeder will educate the committee and assist the transition of the silent auction into a larger funds generator.
Live auctions should always generate more money than a silent auction, but with Auction brio's services, enhancement, education and management, the silent auction will elevate earnings and should challenge the live auction as the leader of the bottom line. Start a new tradition for your silent auction and let Cleveland's premiere benefit auctioneer take the bargain table and evolve it into a big money generator!

Market is Down but Giving is UP!
In the last two weeks, the stock market has sunk to two of its lowest days of trading in Wall Street history. The media is riding the panic selling and it feels like they are actually reveling in a recession. Everyone is concerned, but what does it all mean to non-profit organizations who depend on sponsorships, underwriting and other forms of generous donations to assist their cause?
There is no need to harp on the obvious of economic strife in the USA, but the US economy is not dead. Wall Street is designed to bend and not break. It is like a rubber band. It stretches as far as it can go and it snaps back. Then it starts to stretch again. Traders buy, buy, buy then sell, sell, sell then its back to buy, buy, buy. The stock market is not your guide to non-profit support.
In a time when giving to charity could be dropped down the list of priorities, I have found that hasn't been the case at all. People and companies are still buying table sponsorships, attending galas and participating in lively bidding during auctions. If you give your guests a reason to bid, they will come through!
In nearly five years of conducting auctions I have successfully exceeded the money goal for every auction. I have a 100% return on investment for my clients! This has occurred in a time where companies have shutdown and people have left the Midwest for other opportunities in the South. The market may be down right now but when I conduct a benefit auction giving is UP! Let me help you raise your funds because giving is UP!

INVEST your money & Contract a Certified Benefit Auctioneer Specialist
If I handed you $50,000 right now would you run to your mechanic and ask their opinion on the best investment options for your $50,000 dollars? Would you ask a dentist's opinion regarding the best way to increase the value of your house in order to maximize its potential to sell? Of course not! You'd hire a professional, an expert in that field that would exercise their knowledge to maximize your precious investment. Hiring a licensed professional auctioneer who is a certified Benefit Auctioneer Specialist to conduct your fundraiser, the lifeline to your organization, is the smartest investment of the gala and should be your number one priority.
The auctioneer is the money generator. Money generator that's right! He raises tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars within thirty minutes to an hour. When assembling the components of your fund raising gala or event, it's the licensed professional Benefit Auctioneer Specialist who should be your first investment. There is a simple and beneficial reason for this decision. It is the licensed professional auctioneer who is MAKING your organization money. All others are COSTS to your event or gala. Building rental, catering and musicians are costs for your event, while an investment in Auction brio pays dividends against an auctioneer's professional fees. There is no other venue to receive returns like 30, 40, 50 or more percent on your investment within 30 minutes! Wall Street cannot do it. It can only happen by investing in a licensed professional auctioneer who is a certified Benefit Auctioneer Specialist.
The BAS is the elite of benefit auctioneers. Earning the BAS designation takes education, experience and dedication. Like earning your doctorate in your professional field, the BAS has been earned by less than 1% of all licensed auctioneers in North America. I was one of the first 90 Benefit Auctioneer Specialists in North America to elevate my professional status and earn this certification through the National Auctioneer Association.
Why would you entrust the local weatherperson to orchestrate your fund raising auction? A weatherperson can predict a tornado, but they cannot predict the horrific damage in that forecast. Prevent a fundraising disaster and eliminate an amateur forecast for your auction. To make more money, invest your money by contracting one of the elite licensed professional auctioneer's who is a certified Benefit Auctioneer Specialist and Cleveland's premiere benefit auctioneer.

Auction brio stars for SportsTime Ohio to congratulate Tribe Pitcher Cliff Lee on 20th win!
Always seeking a creative way to produce a television promo, SportsTime Ohio selected Cleveland's premiere auctioneer Mark Schroeder of Auction brio to write and be the talent for a 30 second television promo to congratulate Cleveland Indians pitcher Cliff Lee on his 20th win of the season. It wasn't about how many takes to shoot a keeper, but how fast he could recite the Cy Young type season in a auctioneer type chant. Mark wrote about every decision the Tribe ace had in the 2008 season and had to race through it within :26 seconds. That's 20-wins, 3-losses and a few no-decisions. Check it out on this blog or click right here to view Mark Schroeder auctioneer of Auction brio. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0aGIA8rxvDU.
Not only does Mark raise more money, but he also is the only Cleveland benefit auctioneer who will bring celebrity to your benefit auction.
