Mark Schroeder of Auction brio Raises Pawsome Auction by 242%

Here is something every organization should consider when seeking a professional benefit auctioneer to raise money for their organization or school. Most importantly, has that person elevated his education of conducting benefit auctions as a certified Benefit Auctioneer Specialist and secondly, how will they get involved with your organization to help raise more money? Here is an example of the success in 2009 of raising money for non-profit organizations in 2009.

A year ago, the Pawsome Auction at Nouvel Catholic Central High School in Saginaw, Michigan conducted a fund-a-need auction that raised a small amount of money for a specific need. The goal was not reached and there was disappointment. This year, Nouvel contracted with Mark Schroeder of Auction brio to help with all aspects of their auctions and particularly the fund-a-need auction.

With 20 years of award winning broadcast production as a background, Mark worked with the school to create a more entertaining fund-a-need auction that brought production and understanding to the cause. The result on auction night was a 242% increase in revenue for the Pawsome Auction! Not only did Nouvel reach its goal, they did it within the first :15 seconds of asking for the money. All the proceeding donations were a bonus for the school's science program. Is your professional benefit auctioneer raising money by percentages like this in the current economy?

By contracting with Mark Schroeder of Auction brio you partner with the country's only Telly Award and multi-Emmy Award winning auctioneer who brings professional production ideas to your gala or event. In addition, Mark will set market values and bid increments for the live and silent auctions in order for your organization to maximize its money generating opportunities.

This is what I have done for others, see what I can do for you. Call Auction brio at 216-210-2020, or click here, www.auctionbrio.com.

Mark Schroeder of Auction brio Raises More for Nouvel Catholic Central Pawsome Auction

What a night of fundraising at Horizon Conference Center for Nouvel Catholic Central High School of Saginaw, Michigan. A wonderful thing happened in their Fund-a-Need auction. When I called for the first increment guests gave enough to surpass the amount of money needed to purchase microscopes for students. The rest of the money raised was just a bonus. This years Fund-A-Need raised more money than last years Fund-A-Need auction. I am so happy for the kids!

The numbers are still being added but indications are that with Auction brio conducting the live auction this year, the Pawsome Auction exceeded last years live auction and with suggested procedures for the the silent auction, it too will have reached new levels.

Mark Schroeder of Auction brio Turns Silent Auctions into Money Generators

Silent auction are very popular with charity organizations, but many times the charity is really setting up tables for bargain hunters. Do you guests have a great time getting a steal of a deal and forget that there is a "benefit" to raise money taking place? There is a solution to make your silent auction go from bargain table to money generator.

Even if your event of gala does not have a live auction, an investment in Mark Schroeder of Auction brio provides opportunity for the silent auction to be a money generator. Are you procuring the right items? Are they the items your guests would like to bid on? I had a client who wanted to land a two seater, Porsche Boxster with a lease to drive for two months. I said it was a wonderful opportunity, but I realized there was a small problem. Many of the guests that supported this event already drove that type of car or drove a car with a very similar manufacturer. I did not believe that this item was the opportunity to maximize the most money at this particular event but every dollar helps the cause. It turned out that the car was an attraction to look at on the grounds, but it did not reach its reserve at the starting bid. Providing guests with what they have is not the best opportunity to raise more money. At a different event, I believe this item would have been the cherry on top!

Have Auction brio educate you how to enhance your silent auction. Let Auction brio supply the "wow" factor to your vent and silent auction in order for them to bid more and turn the silent auction into a money generator! For more see: www.auctionbrio.com

Auction brio Stimulates Your Auction

I had a meeting with an organization that was shopping for a benefit auctioneer. "Considering the economy" they had maintained their fundraising level. In the last 2 years they had two different auctioneers who had raised nearly the same amount of money during their live auction. Interestingly, the last three years have all produced the same amount of money. I asked if the auctioneers had helped them with acquiring items, managed the live auction, helped with sponsorships, underwriting, managing the silent auction so it could go from a bargain table to a money generator. I asked if that auctioneer had assisted in the scheduling of the evening so it ran efficiently and that check out was on time and was executed without long lines. I asked if their auctioneer helped them raise more money by using his network connections. Did their auctioneer attend committee meetings in order to work as a team member with the organizations and its committee? So many questions ended with a simple word, "no".

When selecting a benefit auctioneer an organization's wisest decision should be by making an investment in a northeast Ohio's only certified benefit auctioneer specialist and Cleveland's premier benefit auctioneer, Mark Schroeder. A professional auctioneer will walk on a stage and make more money than any amateur, but a certified benefit auctioneer specialist like Mark Schroeder will raise more money than any auctioneer who walks on the stage, conducts the auction, then walks off at its conclusion.

Mark Schroeder BAS will make you more money. In nearly 5 years of conducting benefit auctions, he has a 100% record of raising more money than the previous year and many times doubling, tripling and even quadrupling raised dollars. Call him for a free introductory consultation. It won't cost you a thing to find out that what Auction brio will do for your benefit will make your organization more money.

Auction brio More Than Triples Brecksville Broadview Hts. School Foundation Funds!

It was a record making night for the Brecksville-Boadview Hts. School Foundation Beach Ball auction. In just 24 days of being hired, Mark Schroeder, Cleveland's Premier benefit auctioneer more than tripled the live auction earnings from last year at Saturday night's benefit!

This auction was down 36 ticket sales from the first year of the event and was looking to increase sales to 200. At the time of hiring, they had sold 126 tickets. By implementing some marketing ideas from Auction brio, on auction day they sold 208 tickets to the event! This event turned its entire event from a bargain table into a very successful fundraiser. By implementing a Fund-A-Project, the Foundation raised additional thousands in order to support its enrichment grants.

Though the economy may be struggling, Mark Schroeder of Auction brio continues to raise more money for his clients. With three auctions in the last 7 days, each organization raised more money than they did last year. All three of them were record earnings for their galas!

Mark Schroeder Raises More Money for CAN Council of Saginaw

Under the festive theme of Marti Gras, the CAN Council of Saginaw held its 16th gala and celebrated its 30th year in the Michigan community. This organization is tireless in raising awareness and stopping child abuse and neglect. The media swarmed this event with radio coverage from 102.5 FM WHNN, from the Saginaw News and from NBC25. Two live shots took place at the Apple Mountain Resort in Freeland, Michigan during the news with anchor Erin Looby and Chief Meteorologist Mark Torregrossa. What a setting for a great night at this entertaining auction.

By working with the committee for three months, Auction brio enhanced the lay-out of the evening. From designing the silent auction table lay-out in the room to the schedule of closings, to the video screen for the PowerPoint presentations Mark Schroeder enhanced the evening to present a manageable room for the workers and an easy bidding format for guests.

Auction brio initiated an innovative and entertaining money generator for the CAN Council that sold out in 2-minutes of sales! Hundreds, yes hundreds more were waving money in the air unable to make a purchase! For the first time, the CAN Council embraced Auction brio's recommendation of a Fund-A-Need auction. What a success, they raised their goal in just minutes for a much needed project!

In this difficult economic time where the state of Michigan is holding tightly to jobs in the auto industry, Mark Schroeder of Auction brio helped the Can Council of Saginaw raise more money than it had in many years! It surpassed last year's event and some of their best years ever!

St. Joseph Academy Raises Record Scholarship Funds!

One guest who attended the "Vive la France" Gala told a friend, "you wouldn't know there is a recession at St. Joseph Academy." She's right, looking to raise a conservative amount more than last year for their scholarship fund, the 383 guests generously enhanced this auction by surpassing the announced goal for the evening and nearly doubled what was raised a year ago! While I was asking for donations at the $3,000 level, not only did I capture a great number of bids at this level, but a gentleman in the back of the room was wiggling his paddle for me to recognize him. As I called his bid number, he said, "That's for $5,000!" What a statement as the crowd gave him a roaring applause!

I have been telling committee's that as Cleveland's premier benefit auctioneer and only certified Benefit Auctioneer Specialist in Northern Ohio, I help raise more money with the silent auction, the live auctionand the very important Fund-A-Need.

Supporters understood that others may have a tougher time getting through everyday life. The guests were so generous last Saturday evening that a recession never even entered their mind.

Benefits Find Economic Stimulus in Signing Auction brio

Every non profit organization is seeking an economic stimulus for their benefit gala or event. How will that happen for your event? Will your organization be able to make more money this year or will it kowtow to the headlines that no one has money? From conducting auctions in the first two months of 2009, people are still being philanthropic!

Organizations looking for an inexpensive way to acquire more will find 2009 a difficult one. The laws of business prevents that from occurring. If an amateur auctioneer is chosen to conduct a live auction, what is gained? Actually, you've lost thousands due to the amateur's lack of knowledge of market price, values, increment expertise and even entertainment value. If an organization believes that they only want a licensed auctioneer to walk on the stage and sell their items and make money, yes it'll happen. However, that is such a small return on your investment in a professional.

While headlines are reporting tough times, I am proof that donations, sponsorships and bidding is holding its own. Is it a bit harder, sure. Are my clients still achieving their goals? Yes they are with being educated how to discover new donors! More than ever, non profit organizations need to acquire new money. Mark Schroeder is the only benefit auctioneer specialist who educates non profits to make more in a challenged economy.

For the start of 2009, Auction brio has more than doubled its booked auctions from last year and is already scheduling for 2010. The need is for more service, not less. Auction brio initiates better live auction items, invigorates the silent auction transforming it from a bargain table to a money generator. Present the "WOW" factor with the country's only Emmy Award winning professional auctioneer who will enhance your event with a compelling success story video. Elevate or introduce a Fund-a-Need auction that will support new programs for the organization.

Why would any organization settle for less money when they can have more? Contact Mark Schroeder, Cleveland's premier benefit auctioneer and northeast Ohio's only certified benefit auctioneer specialist.

Ohio Foundations to Give Less, so How Will You Get More?

Today, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported that "more than 90 percent of Ohio's foundations report their assets have declined, and 60 percent of them expect to give less money in 2009 than in 2008." If Ohio foundations are cutting back, its time to view the much bigger picture. Considering that $15.8 billion was donated to US charities in 2008, how will your organization get more?

Foundations have been a tremendous source for organizations in need. They will always be a great source for donations. But when they are giving out less, how will the organization make up the difference? My business on the concept of finding new money. Organizations who understand making more work with Auction brio. How will your organization or event find more funds?

Slate.com list says that $8 billion more dollars were donated in 2008 than 2007. The analogy goes like this. When you go to the same well day after day it will go dry. If you did not dig another well in case of a drought, there is trouble. If you haven;t started digging the new well, start right now. There is prosperity but only for those who seek it.

If raising more funds is your goal, then raise the bar for opportunity. Contact Cleveland's premiere benefit auctioneer and let Auction brio educate your committee to make more money!

Cleveland Plain Dealer Features Mark Schroeder Auction brio

Cleveland's premiere benefit auctioneer was the feature of a Cleveland Plain Dealer article. Mark Schroeder, Northeast Ohio's only certified benefit auctioneer specialist was interviewed by Cleveland Plain Dealer reporter Sarah Crump in her "10 minutes with..." column. Here are some excerpts from the feature article.

Mark Schroeder usually wears a tux to work as a benefit auctioneer.
Former TV sports anchor Mark Schroeder had to be somewhat of a fast talker to cover Cleveland teams during rapid-paced glory years of World Series, championships and playoff teams of the 1990s. So it seems natural that after leaving WJW Channel 8 in 2000, the John Carroll University grad became a professional benefit auctioneer specialist. The owner of Auction brio uses tux, mike and "excitement" to sell items ranging from puppies to cruises for charity. He recently chatted with Plain Dealer reporter Sarah Crump.

Do you perform the usual auctioneer's fast chant?
As a certified Benefit Auctioneer Specialist, it is more important to be lucid in the chant than to speak the chant as fast as possible. It's not a race. The object is to speak clearly and make the most money for the organization or the company.

What does your company's name mean?
Brio means "energy" in Spanish and Italian. That is what I try to provide as a professional auctioneer.

Where did you learn auctioneering?
I attended Reppert School of Auctioneering in Auburn, Ind. It is the oldest and most prestigious auctioneering school in the country. We had 38 instructors at auction school and eight of them were attorneys. We worked on the chant but were educated in the laws and running an innovative auction business with integrity.

Why did you become an auctioneer?
I hosted an event that had hired a licensed professional auctioneer. We hit it off. Being an auctioneer is similar to conducting a live shot for TV. You are in front of a large live audience. You are the focus of attention, and you are selling that item for two to three minutes at a time. For me, it is a natural conversion from television.

Name an odd item you've auctioned.
I told a high school principal that I could sell a $12 blowup dinosaur that represented the theme of the gala. I produced a Power Point of photos to tell a story about the mascot. I sold the $12 dinosaur for $380.

Name a fantastic item you've auctioned.
Once I had a gentleman who told me to auction off an item he had written on a napkin. He turned out to be legitimate. I sold a weekend trip for eight on his private jet to any destination in the continental United States, plus he would pay for the hotel and dinner. The value was $30,000. I sold it for $38,000.

Tell a funny story about an auction you conducted.
I once had a woman in an audience of 1,500 women scream, "How much are you?" I said, "That depends what you're going to use me for."

Got another one?
At a large gala, I sold a dog to a woman while her husband was at the bar. When he came back to the table, she greeted him with "Look what we bought." He said, "Oh, no we didn't." To keep peace in the family, the organization agreed to put the dog back up for auction. Here's the kicker: I got more money for it the second time.

What's one of the strangest services you've ever auctioned?
I have an auction in Michigan in February where a politician will come to your house dressed in whatever costume you wish him in and cut your lawn.

Charitable Contributors Give Double in Economic Hardened 2008

What is the incentive for people to donate or pledge funds to non profit organizations? Is it a connection to the cause or is it philanthropic generosity? Likely it is both and a lot more. In a record year of 2007, very large philanthropic donors, the Slate 60 gave $7.8 billion dollars to non profit organizations. But in a far more economically challenged year of 2008, the dollars doubled by the billions! In 2008 the Slate 60 gave $15.8 billion dollars!

Is it the cause or philanthropic generosity? How is it that the companies or people with the most are giving more than ever in the toughest of times? It matters not the reason, just so they continue to contribute to the greatest need of non profit organizations who dedicate themselves to cures and educational advances.

In a time when people are challenged by a hardened economy, people are still giving, not just by the hundreds or thousands, but by the millions and billions! Let Auction brio conduct a live auction, make more money with your silent auction. Bank on it because there are billions being donated each year!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! Its a fresh start for opportunities for benefit auctions and fundraising. What are your plans? Is it an aggressive one or a passive one in order to raise more money this year? The first quarter will be an interesting one but I have to tell you that all of my auctions for 2009 are sold out! What a statement to the organizations and to the commitment to people who are still buying into an evening of entertainment and a chance to generously give a donation or bid on an auction item.

My clients have read the economic sign that the beginning of the year may not be as predictable to project final numbers, but we are working together to obtain the best presentation in items and entertainment. Auction brio is enhancing charity organizations with items only obtainable with my contacts from spending decades in the sports and corporate world.

Serving fewer appetizers or cutting spending on decorations is one thing, but investing in a certified benefit auctioneer is the smartest decision that the organization will make in event planning. The auctioneer is the one who is generating the money, make sure you get the best who educates the committee, not someone who just walks on stage and leaves. Being Cleveland's Premiere benefit auctioneer, I will provide your organization with the knowledge to make more money in 2009. All the best to your success!
