I was contracted by St. Giles School in Oak Park, Illinois three and half months prior to their largest benefit of the year, the Black & Gold Pride. St. Giles had two issues to face. The first was that they needed to elevate a lot of funds for this fundraising event and secondly, they had to believe in what I was going to teach them would comeback in more money raised at the Black & Gold event.
St. Giles faced a number of past issues that needed to be eliminated and inserted with fresh ideas that would bring in new money and more money. Auction brio started with the silent auction. From the types of items that were procured, to the number of items that were procured, to packaging; it was a new system. Bid cards were strategically re-organized by Auction brio. In addition Auction brio inserted two opportunities to generate more money in the silent auction which would draw bidders to interact with the silent auction. It all worked to generate more on the night of the event.
The live auction featured beautiful PowerPoint presentations with music introductions to the packages. The packages themselves were targeted to guest interests. In the home of world rebounded architect Frank Lloyd Wright, the live auction featured opportunity to have renounced chefs prepare dinners in these beautiful mansions. The competition was a bid frenzy!
The previous year without Auction brio, the Fund-a-Need barely got off the ground. Frankly, it was almost scrapped because the participation was so minimal. I was not going to allow for a Fund-a-Need opportunity to be eliminated. With the assistance from the Pastor of the parish on the introduction of the need, our video presentation was strong and guests grasped the message of need. The Fund-a-Need quadrupled the previous year and shattered the school's goal. The desperate need of upgrading a Technology Tune-Up turned into a gold mine!
Congratulations to St. Giles School on the success of their Black & Gold Pride. The real winners are the kids and we have the generous guests and supporters of the Black & Gold Pride to thank for caring and sharing.
